How to Make Iced Coffee with Hot Coffee

Iced coffee is the perfect summer morning or mid-afternoon pick-me-up. I love iced coffee. But whenever I add a bunch of ice cubes to my hot, strong coffee, it always has a watery taste. Does anyone have the same experience? How do you make iced coffee at home without the watery taste? 

Iced coffee  is not simply letting your hot coffee get cold. Regular ice cubes melt leaving  cold but watery coffee.  Now let’s learn how to make iced coffee with hot coffee that won’t get weak and watery.

To avoid weak and watery iced coffee, you can try the following two methods.

  • To make iced coffee with hot coffee, you can add coffee ice cubes (ice cubes made from leftover coffee) into your hot coffee, which will not dilute your coffee. 
  • Making cold brew coffee is a good choice, but that takes a bit of planning.

Of course, you need ice cubes while making iced coffee. To avoid weak coffee. You can make coffee ice cubes with your leftover coffee, simply pour room temperature coffee into an ice-cube tray and freeze it overnight.

While making coffee, you will get the best results if you use a manual burr grinder and freshly ground coffee. It may take you some time and efforts, but trust me it’s absolutely worthy. Also, water temperature is crucial while making coffee.

  • Place some coffee ice cubes in your cup, then pour in the freshly brewed coffee. If you want to sweeten your iced coffee, chilled simple syrup will do the trick, which also helps cold your brewed coffee. You cup of iced coffee is ready to drink.

If you are not in a rush to enjoy your cup of iced coffee, you can make cold brew coffee, which may takes 12-24 hours. But it is worth it, for the cold brew coffee taste smoother and less acidic
